My first day of Grad School
Yesterday was my first day of Grad School.
I saw a dude devour an entire pizza while I was waiting for my first class to begin. This guy ate 12 entire slices in 2 or 3 minutes.
This is what college is all about.

When it comes to Role Playing Games:
I’m so new school, that I don’t even use Rule Books, Dice, Grids, or Miniatures; I just voice random thoughts by myself and call it a successful session.

Like the first Re-Animator film, Beyond Re-Animator isn’t a Lovecraftian work of cosmic horror.
Beyond Re-Animator is like a mix of Return of the Living Dead Part II and The Green Mile. It’s a story about the institutional abuse, love, and disgusting zombies; A whacked out retelling of the story of the modern prometheus with lots of camp, and a moderate amount of gore and laughs.
In the spirit of its classic precursor, Beyond Re-Animator is a hell of a lot of fun!

(SPOILERS AHEAD!)
This morning I re-read the first Elric of Melnibone story, The Dreaming City. I’m still no closer to understanding Elric’s motivations* to bring ruin to his own people.
I understand that he has a bone to pick with Yyrkoon, the guy who usurped his throne and put some sort of spell on his lady, but why take down an entire civilization because of it?
Doesn’t that seem like a bit of an over reaction?
I’m no literary critic or psychologist, but I think that Elric is a casebook example of a malevolent narcissist. He is also quite possibly an asshole. Of course, that’s just my humble opinion.
That being said, The Dreaming City is every bit as fun as I remembered it. It’s fantasy that’s both epic and unpredictable; which is what fantasy used to be before it became a “genre.”
I can’t wait to get better acquainted with Elric “Woe is Me” of Melnibone and his demon sword, Stormbringer.
